The Crupi Group of Companies services Toronto and the surrounding areas in the road construction, material and maintenance industries. We have been a family-run company since 1951, and we are currently looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team.
The Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible to maintain and enhance all health and safety programs. You will work closely with employees, supervisors and managers to promote all initiatives associated with improving compliance in occupational health, safety, fleet, contracting, and Certificate of Recognition (COR).
Responsibilities :
- Maintain the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
- Conduct internal audits.
- Support programs to maintain COR.
- Organize and assist with safety meetings, safety talks, and monitoring compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct site visits alongside site observations / audits.
- Create, maintain, and modify in-house training programs and participate in the spring / winter orientation programs.
- Maintain and update training records, as well as organize and conduct training, new worker orientation and on-line training
- Collect and input statistics.
- Create, maintain, and modify safe work practices, safe job procedures and job hazard assessments.
- Investigate workplace incidents, prepare detailed investigation reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with the reporting of claims and return to work program.
- Collaborate with external agencies, including regulatory bodies and insurance providers, to address safety concerns and ensure compliance.
- Assist the Health and Safety Manager with Ministry of Labour site visits, investigating incidents, accidents, injuries,
- Assist Co-chairs in the administration and facilitation of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Qualifications :
5 years of experience as a Health and Safety Coordinator, or similar positionFamiliar with the OHSA including Construction Projects Regulation, Industrial RegulationFamiliar with Mining Regulation would be an assetExperience in the construction / industrial sectorKnowledge of WSIB reporting and return to work programsProficient in the Microsoft Office SuiteComfortable using health & safety software (familiarity with SiteDocs, ISN Portal, and WSIB website portal would be an asset)Great interpersonal skillsStrong communications skillsComfortable presenting to groupsExceptionally organizedAbility to demonstrate assertiveness when requiredClass G driver’s licenseAbility to drive to sites independently.Education : Certificate, diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety would be an assetWhile we appreciate all applications we receive, only candidates under consideration will be contacted.
