Hydraulic Specialist / Engineer – Applied Industrial Technologies (Canada)

We are currently seeking an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Hydraulic Specialist/Engineer. The role will be based out of our Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, and Surrey locations, with an option for a hybrid remote work arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop hydraulic systems for industrial equipment
- Create and maintain detailed hydraulic schematics for designs & components
- Create and manage 3D CAD models, produce 2D fabrication & assembly drawings
- Provide on‑site and remote commissioning & troubleshooting support for projects
- Work with vendors to obtain pricing & delivery
- Create and maintain project bills of material
- Create and contribute to technical project proposals
- Oversee technical projects to ensure documentation and quality standards are met
- Help drive initiatives and results to achieve departmental priorities & targets
- Take ownership of the development of solutions from concept to completion
- Stay up to date on the latest technologies while looking for opportunities to enhance Applied’s product and service offeringsWheel
- Coach others in the technologies to help them advance their skills & knowledge
- Document value‑added services for solutions provided to the customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Post secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology focusing on hydraulics, registered or eligible for registration with APEGA, ASET or IFPS
- 5+ years of experience providing hydraulic and fluid power design solution in industrial hydraulics applications for various industries
- Skilled in the creation of 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, schematics and instructions is a must
- Pro Engineered Microsoft office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and/or other risk assessment techniques would be an asset
- Experience in project management and lean manufacturing would be an asset
- Collaborative spirit with the ability to develop/maintain relationships with ease inside & outside the organization
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Demonstr preventiva ability to troubleshoot on‑site and remotely
- Strong communication & presentation skills
- Willingness and ability to travel as required (less than 10%)
