The Position :

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Junior Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a Junior Maintenance Worker, you will carry out in‑suite repairs, coordinate suite restoration, perform grounds‑keeping tasks, and ensure the smooth operation of mechanical equipment. Your contribution will directly impact the comfort, safety, and well‑being of our residents, aligning with our organization's values and mission.

Responsibilities :

• Operate a variety of equipment, including power tools, lawn mowers, gas weed trimmers, hand tools, and more.
• Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment as outlined in maintenance manuals.
• Take prompt action to address equipment malfunctions and issues.
• Conduct daily checks on boiler mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Inspect emergency alarm systems and standby generators, adhering to government regulations and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain thorough weekly maintenance logs.
• Execute seasonal grounds duties, such as lawn cutting and snow removal.
• Undertake suite painting, general carpentry, and plumbing repairs as needed.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations, demonstrating swift and appropriate action.
• Attend LutherCare Communities planning meetings as required.
• Apply problem‑solving skills within established policies and procedures.
• Assist with annual inspections and service contracts.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and external parties.
• Adhere to LutherCare Communities' Policies and Procedures.
• Complete additional job‑related tasks delegated by the Manager.

Qualifications :

Applicants typically qualify with a High School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent, a valid Fireman's Certificate within 3 months of employment, a valid driver's license, and proficiency in computer and electronic devices. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required.
