Director of Research and Development Artemis Recruitment is seeking a Director of Research and Development for one of our clients based in Laval.
The position holder will be responsible for developing and generating ideas to stimulate and share knowledge within the group.

Main Responsibilities : Develop KPIs that contribute to regional success and implement tracking regarding product development, bringing together regional leaders to share and implement best practices where productive.
Identify opportunities where / how to win and competitive concepts to identify the USP to accelerate regional success rates and group client growth.
Identify emerging technologies that expand business opportunities within client segments, driving a broader USP and growth.
Collaborate with the BDM to use this information to develop and execute an innovation strategy in conjunction with the overall sauce strategy.
Lead product development for global accounts. NPD Client - Tier 1 client contact point (cross-group), hands-on support, and piloting of NPD.
Support the development of regional client products on demand. Partner with business development to create a collaborative pipeline.
Contribute to the 3-5 year sustainability agenda and ideas through new science and / or technological innovation, including implications on shelf life, new concepts, testing protocols for new ingredients, BFY options, and their uses.
Perform any other reasonably assigned duties by management. Requirements : Master's degree in science (or equivalent) in food science, food engineering, chemistry, or a similar agricultural discipline.
8 to 12 years of product development experience or closely related experience in the food industry with specific experience in sauces and direct management of large technical groups, including project management experience.
Excellent problem-solving skills to provide innovative ideas that meet client demands. Experience in setting annual budgets, tracking and controlling expenses, and overall financial management of a technical department / group comprising both personnel and technical components.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership principles through mentoring and staff development. Must have a clear understanding of regulatory labeling, microbiology, and sauce development.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with a focus on SharePoint, Excel, and Word. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all contacts within and outside the company with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to travel 30% of the time. Strong analytical skills, flexibility, adaptability, rigor, and thoroughness.
