Webuild has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line and we are currently seeking a Site Superintendent.
This position is a full-time 100% onsite position at our downtown office.

POSITION SUMMARY
- The Site Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day operations on construction sites. This role involves managing and coordinating all activities related to construction projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Site Superintendent will act as a liaison between the project management team and the field, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities :
Early Works Supervision :
Supervise Early Works activities, including demolitions, utility relocations, geotechnical investigations, and geotechnical instrumentation installation.Ensure that subcontractors are working safely and in compliance with PNC safety standards.Monitor and enforce adherence to project schedules and timelines for Early Works activities.Oversee contractors to ensure efficient and effective project execution during Early Works phases.General On-Site Supervision :
Oversee all on-site activities, including coordinating trades, materials, and equipment.Ensure that construction activities are conducted according to project specifications, schedules, and budgets.Monitor and enforce adherence to project plans and quality standards.Safety and Compliance :
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.Conduct regular safety inspections and address potential hazards immediately, conduct weekly tools box talk.Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and ensure compliance with OSHA OHSA and other regulatory requirements.Team Coordination and Communication :
Supervise and direct construction workers and subcontractors on site.Coordinate with project managers, architects, and engineers to address and resolve any on-site issues.Facilitate effective communication between all project stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.Quality Assurance :
Inspect work performed by subcontractors to ensure it meets the required quality standards.Address and rectify any deficiencies or non-compliance issues promptly.Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to architectural and engineering specifications.Schedule and Logistics Management :
Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that milestones are met.Plan and coordinate material deliveries and equipment usage to minimize downtime.Adjust project plans and schedules as necessary to accommodate changes and unforeseen issues.Documentation and Reporting :
Maintain detailed and accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, logs, and inspection reports.Report project status and any issues to the Project Manager.Prepare and submit necessary documentation for project closeout.Client and Stakeholder Relations :
Communicate with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide project updates.Foster positive relationships with clients and ensure their expectations are met or exceeded.Education and Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management or as a Site Superintendent.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.Specific experience supervising Early Works activities, including demolitions, utility relocations, geotechnical investigations, and geotechnical instrumentation installation.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Effective communication and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in construction software and tools.This position requires a proactive leader with the ability to manage complex transit projects efficiently while ensuring safety, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.WORK ENVIRONMENT
