DIETITIAN

Location: Ottawa, Nepean

Work: 3.5 days per week, Full-time

Responsibilities

• Consult with and advise the Food Service Manager and Director of Care concerning nutrition and hydration program needs.
• Conduct nutritional assessments for each resident using RAI MDS 2.0, determine individualized diets and interventions with resident, family, and care team.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nutritional care plans addressing concerns, goals, and interventions for all residents.
• Maintain excellent communication with the Food Service Manager regarding changing needs of residents.
• Review seasonal menus for nutritional adequacy and provide written approval.
• Educate residents, family members, and team members regarding nutrition and hydration recommendations.
• Act as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, representing Southbridge in regional and professional activities as appropriate.
• Participate in interdisciplinary committees related to resident care, facility operation, and quality indicators as required.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian, eligible for membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
• Extensive knowledge of geriatric nutrition.
• 3-5 years’ experience in long‑term care setting preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, RAI MDS 2.0 desirable, familiarity with PointClickCare an asset.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multi‑tasking skills.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices, principles, and legislation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude with demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective team relationships.
