Career Service Specialist

Metro College of Technology is a career college in Toronto, Ontario. Since 1998 it has successfully been providing career-focused programs to the public. The college trains its students with state of the art knowledge and skills to meet today’s dynamic job market demand. The programs at Metro College of Technology cover engineering & technology, data science, information technology, and business and management. Currently we are looking for a career service specialist to provide career service to our students.

Responsibilities :

As a career service specialist, you will perform the following key duties :

  • Prospect employers for job and co-op opportunities for our graduates
  • Give students orientation on career service
  • Train students on how to write a resume and a cover letter and how to prepare for a job interview
  • Assess student's qualifications for career service
  • Facilitate and monitor job search and interview activities
  • Visit internship and co-op students
  • Maintain an employer and co-op placement provider database and
  • Participate in the related college meetings

Qualifications :

You must meet the following requirements :

  • a university degree
  • excellent customer service skills
  • professional manner over the phone
  • comfortable with cold calling and proactive in contacting employers and employment agents
  • able to work with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and computer applications fluently
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • adaptable and able to learn and apply new knowledge and skills quickly
  • patient and approachable
  • a cooperative team member and result-driven
  • Consulting sales experience is a great asset

    • Start date : as soon as possible.

    Compensation : $60k-$70K / year+ performance bonus $5K-$10K / year
