Qualifications
Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses of OntarioCurrent CPR CertificateMinimum of two (2) years recent nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred with the ability to work to full scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of OntarioPost-diploma perioperative certificate mandatoryOR Scrub experience requiredKnowledge of equipment and instruments, setting surgical cases and responsibilities when scrubbed.Excellent physical assessment skillsWorking knowledge of or the ability to quickly comprehend the SurgiNet Information System and personal computer applicationsAbility to plan, organize and exercise effective decision makingDemonstrated excellence in critical thinking, communication and problem solving skillsDemonstrated ability to prioritize and function both independently and interdependently with the interprofessional care teamEvidence of ongoing professional development and continuing educationAbility to meet the physical demand of the positionSatisfactory performance appraisal in current position
