Low Voltage Power System Technician – Énergie NB Power
Join the Low Voltage Power System Technology team where you will overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair power apparatuses used in NB Power’s distribution and transmission electrical systems. You will also ensure the safe and proper handling and storage of transformer oil in compliance with environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Overhaul, test, maintain, repair, refurbish, and troubleshoot electrical apparatuses (up to 138 kV) for safe and reliable power distribution.
- Pre‑commission new apparatuses, ensuring they meet all operational and safety standards.
- Ensure safe and proper processing, handling, storage, and disposal of transformer oil across the province.
- Work at heights and perform heavy lifting as required.
- Travel occasionally within the province; overnight stays may be required.
Qualifications & Experience
Two‑year diploma in one of the following : Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Instrumentation and Controls Technology.Or one year of hands‑on experience working with trade‑related industrial tools.Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Preference for candidates with a Construction Electrician Certificate of Qualification and two years of industrial experience post‑certification.Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered.Ability to obtain a RCMP or local police criminal record check per NERC security standards.Benefits
