Manufacturing Equipment Line Mechanic - Night Shift

Belvika has grown to be one of the largest co-packers of chocolate, confectionary and snack products in Canada. Belvika uses its extensive experience in managing both manual processes and automated equipment to handle primary and secondary packaging of products for some of the world’s best known confectionary brands. Belvika is growing and is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for its Export facility, located in Mississauga, for the NIGHT shift. The individuals must be flexible to work all shifts. Hourly rate: $23.50 - $38 hourly based on experience. Position status: existing vacancy Shift: Nigh shift The successful candidate will: * Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines; * Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards; * Adjust machine components, machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product; * Regulate machine flow or speed; * Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a Supervisor; * Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material; * Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides; * Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn't sticking properly; * Perform preventative maintenance on packaging lines as the schedule requires; * Repair areas in the facility that require attention as per work orders; * Train Packaging Equipment Operators; * Assist with production on lines as required; * Able to source & order parts through online maintenance program; * Other duties as assigned. Education/Work experience requirements: * 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging (i.e. shrink wrapping, overwrapping and conveyors); * Engineering/Technical Education background. * Forklift or Scissor Lift certification an asset; * *IMPORTANT* Licensed Millwright not required Key technical & behavioural competencies: * Mechanically inclined; * Technical mindset; * Experience using ERP/MRP systems; * High attention to detail; * Good communication skills; * Works effectively in a fast-paced environment; * Microsoft Office Suite of Products Belvika is an equal opportunity employer, offering competitive wages, a bonus plan, benefit plan, ongoing training, and an interesting and challenging work environment.
