Job description

Adecco is currently looking for a Forklift Driver / Material Handler to work full-time hours for our client located just south of Ottawa.   • Pay rate : $24 / hour
  • Location : South of Ottawa , ON
  • Availability Required : Day shift 7 : 00am-5 : 00pm Monday to Friday
  • Job type : Temporary

    • Responsibilities :

  • Safely operate and maneuver tractors, implement carriers, sweepers, and attachments for storage and shipment.
  • Load, unload, secure, and prepare shipments, ensuring proper strapping and protection of goods.
  • Conduct pre-shipment inspections to confirm accuracy and quality before dispatch.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of whole goods before delivery to customers.
  • Assist in washing and preparing equipment for shipment or showroom display.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the warehouse and yard.
  • Label and organize bin locations for parts and equipment storage.
  • Perform daily inspections of forklifts and warehouse equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Use a scrubber / sweeper to maintain warehouse cleanliness.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and inventory checks to ensure accuracy in stock levels.

    • The Material Handler must meet the following mandatory requirements :

  • Must hold a at least a Secondary School Diploma or GED;
  • Availability to work within 7 : 00 - 17 : 00 Monday to Sunday;
  • Written, Oral and Spoken communication skills in English;
  • Basic Physical abilities (lifting boxes up to 50 lbs);
  • Strong attention to detail and data reporting skills;
  • Forklift certification or large-machinery operation certification a strong asset;
  • Experience in assembly / sawdering would be considered an asset;
  • Light industrial experience would be considered an asset;
  • Candidate must have Steel toed shoes.
