Your New Role :
Our client is seeking a Project Manager / Estimator for their Service division. This position entails creating detailed estimates for commercial construction projects and residential building retrofits, including parkade EV and lighting installations, as well as comprehensive building fire alarm upgrades. Key responsibilities include generating precise quotations for tender submissions, reviewing tender specifications and drawings, overseeing the estimating process, incorporating scope changes, and collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing. The candidate will be expected to devise innovative strategies to optimize cost savings, communicate with clients to clarify specifications, participate in bid closings and project meetings, support the installation team with cost control, lead and mentor a crew of workers, provide progress updates to the General Manager, manage a team of Service Technicians and Apprentices, prepare billing materials for monthly project invoicing, process Change Orders, and work with the site team to develop accurate schedules and meet project deadlines.
What You Need To Succeed :
We are seeking a highly qualified individual with an Electrical Red Seal or FSR Certificate, and at least 2 years of experience in a Project Management role for electrical projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and be proficient with Accubid or other estimating software, as well as possess strong overall computer skills. We value team players who thrive in collaborative environments but can also work independently with minimal supervision. The candidate should be highly driven, motivated, and capable of learning quickly, prioritizing tasks effectively, and maintaining strong relationships. Organizational skills and the ability to adapt and excel in a dynamic setting are essential. This person should also be familiar with quoting and managing small and service projects.
