Job Description

We are thrilled to be working with one of our top financial services clients on staffing a Manager of Commercial Credit & Enterprise Risk.

This role is responsible for leading the commercial credit risk program, ensuring its alignment with regulations and risk appetite.

You will develop and maintain credit policies, provide leadership on risk assessment, and advise commercial lenders on best practices.

Our client operates on a hybrid model and requires employees to work on site 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage Commercial Credit Risk : Oversee the commercial credit risk program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the organization's risk appetite framework.
  • Develop & Implement Credit Policies : Establish and maintain credit policies, procedures, and assessment processes for optimal risk management and portfolio growth.
  • Monitor Portfolio Performance : Continuously monitor the commercial credit portfolio, identifying and mitigating potential risks and ensuring adherence to policy limits.
  • Provide Expert Advice : Act as a subject matter expert, advising and coaching commercial lenders and management on risk management practices.
  • Enhance ERM Program : Support the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the Enterprise Risk Management program.
  • Lead Reporting & Analysis : Oversee the production of commercial credit risk reports and analyses for senior leadership and the board.
  • Drive Collaboration : Collaborate with various departments to manage risk and credit quality within the commercial lending portfolio.
  • Maintain Industry Knowledge : Stay abreast of market conditions and industry trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities.

  • The commercial credit portfolio operates within regulatory limits and risk tolerance levels.
  • Credit quality is maintained, with delinquency and loss provisions meeting established targets.
  • A balance between risk and reward is achieved, supporting the organization's strategic goals.
  • The ERM program is robust and effectively manages commercial credit risk.

Qualifications :

  • University degree in a business-related field with relevant work experience.
  • Professional designation or advanced study in a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in risk analysis and commercial credit granting.
  • 5-10 years of progressive business and management experience.
  • Experience with direct commercial lending, account management, and underwriting risk is a plus. (Can be included in the experience section if needed)
