Job description

Position Title : AOI Programmer (Automated Optical Inspection) Status : Full-Time, Contract Location : Ottawa, ON Hours : All Shifts Available (Days, Evenings, Overnights) Compensation : Starting at $17 Overview of Role Under close supervision, the AOI Programmer / Operator carries out assigned tasks in a highly structured, repetitive environment. A key part of this role is to learn focused tasks well, and repeat these tasks to produce a high volume of quality product in the shortest possible time, to maintain aggressive production schedules. The AOI Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) test equipment and interpretation of results. Responsibilities

  • Carries out repetitive testing where product and process differentiation is required to assist in fault determination
  • Conducts product inspection or testing, documenting as required, according to specific procedures
  • Recognizes discrepancies in documentation or problems with quality, product or process, and recommends changes
  • Independently provides support to the Manufacturing Team Lead
  • Uses a variety of current software to properly execute required computer transactions, such as SFDC, Agile, and Excel
  • Maintains inventory levels according to process documentation
  • Orders and ensures any printed labels are correct and transacted to the correct planned order on tracker
  • Assists engineers or technicians by gathering requested information to help establish the root cause of problems, and determines corrective action
  • Works with Engineering team to implement continuous improvement
  • Identifies and articulates corrective action requirements
  • Records data on a daily basis
  • Maintains the work area in a clean and orderly position
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures performance standards
  • Provides guidance to less experienced team members
  • Identifies and articulates problems or issues for Technical Support or Manufacturing Engineering, and assists in gathering the information and proof necessary to establish the root cause and determine corrective action
  • Properly executes on inventory control, cycle counting, and relevant PC tracking

Requirements and Assets

  • High School Education, minimum preferred
  • Written / verbal communication in English, essential
  • Process Document comprehension, an asset
  • Proficiency with MS Office, required
  • Manufacturing Experience, preferred
  • 26-week college course in Electronic Assembly, an asset
