PURPOSE OF POSITION :

As the General Shop Foreman, you will provide managerial leadership and personal development to employees to meet safety, service, productivity, and financial goals, serving as a role model for corporate values. You will develop and lead facility plans and schedules for the daily maintenance and servicing of locomotive assets at key Locomotive Maintenance Facilities to support the Mechanical system plan.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES :

• Implement the daily Locomotive Maintenance facility plan across all shifts to support system and local operating plans.
• Be accountable for the output / results of direct reports related to daily production plans, adjusting as needed to maximize locomotive reliability, safety, and efficiency.
• Ensure locomotive maintenance and servicing comply with CPKC’s regulations, AAR standards, manufacturer specifications, and TC / FRA regulations.
• Apply CPKC's safety practices, policies, and procedures, taking corrective actions when necessary, documented through memos, Marvin forms, or investigations.
• Implement approved Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to direct reports, supporting their development through training and courses.
• Ensure all activities within Locomotive Maintenance are conducted in accordance with the collective agreement.
