Your Job :

We’re looking for a Director, Strategy & Operations to join our growing team for Casualty, Legal, and Large Loss Claims! The goal of the Director is to contribute to the growth and sustainability of Intact’s leadership advantage though the execution of strategies to ensure ongoing market competitiveness and organizational success.

The Director, Strategy and Operations reports to the Deputy Senior Vice President of Claims – Casualty, Legal and Large Loss and works closely with the leadership team across Canada. The location of the role is open to our locations across Canada, although Toronto or Montreal is preferred. Reporting into the Director, Strategy & Operations, will be a team that includes a Project Manager, business analyst and coordinator.

Here are a few ways you'll make a difference :

The Director in this highly visible role will partner with the leadership team (VPs and Directors across Canada) to develop our strategy and vision for overall operations across our team’s + employees.

In collaboration with appropriate COEs / Leaders, develop, design and track business strategies and projects that will support our claims strategic priorities.

Establish, track and work closely with the business to refine best practice workflows, procedures and change management plans to ensure business practices are well executed.

Project management experience and leading change management initiatives.

Act as the coordinator for key strategic meetings.

Prepare research, analysis, and presentations for the Casualty, Legal and Specialty Claims leadership team in relation to our strategic narrative for claims and our key deliverables to outperformance.

Continually assess our claims strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and promote actionable proposals to address them.

Leverage your financial acumen to support the budget process, initiatives delivery, reporting to help promote accountability.

Educate and build awareness of key trends with internal stakeholders (i.e., presentations, insights and idea generation, etc.).

Conduct various primary and secondary research with internal and external partners as required. Continually explore the external environment to identify relevant industry, consumer and technology trends.

Identify new organizational strategies and capabilities necessary to sustain long-term competitive advantage.

Ensure strong partnership and collaboration across Canada and working closely with the communication team to ensure a strong communication plan for national teams.

Your Skills

University or college degree (preferably in finance, actuarial, or general business).

7-10 years’ work experience; 3-5 years’ management experience within that period.

Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.

Excellent project management skills.

Strong research and analytical capability and the ability to synthesize that information.

Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation) and demonstrated success engaging people in ideas, influencing

Strong facilitation skills.

Strong collaboration skills.

Strong financial and business acumen.

Bilingualism (French / English) - Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
