Join our team at GHD. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our Montreal, Brossard, or Quebec offices on a 14‑month contract to cover a parental leave.
Job Description
As a Payroll Analyst, you will manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for employees across multiple provinces and entities, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, and local legislation. Working with ADP GlobalView (GV), integrated HRIS systems, you’ll ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in every payroll cycle. You will also collaborate closely with HR, Finance, HRIS, and internal partners to deliver reporting, audits, and insights while continuously improving processes and maintaining strong internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Review full payroll and balance reports to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to release.
- Interpret data and identify possible solutions; navigate a wide variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.
- Build effective relationships with internal clients and deliver high‑quality professional services.
- Provide specialist advice on interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolve queries, and refer complex issues.
- Manage benefits premium deductions, group RRSPs, transfers to third parties; ensure compliance with internal and governmental requirements.
- Generate and analyze payroll reports for leadership, Finance, and HR; conduct audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Verify and reconcile payroll data between HRIS and ADP GlobalView; ensure timesheets are completed and maintain knowledge of provincial overtime laws.
- Ensure compliance with multi‑province tax laws, overtime, vacation, statutory holidays, and termination pay rules.
- Maintain and support ADP GlobalView system functionality, updates, and integrations.
- Collaborate with Finance on reconciliations, remittances, and third‑party payments.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide timely professional responses to employee, manager, and government inquiries.
- Act as a subject matter expert on Canadian payroll legislation and compliance.
What you will bring to the Team
- PCP designation with the National Payroll Institute (or in progress).
- Post‑secondary education in Business, Accounting, HR, or related field.
- 8 + years of Canadian payroll experience across multiple provinces.
- Advanced knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, and reporting.
- Systems expertise: ADP GlobalView, advanced Excel; Oracle/BST experience a plus.
- Experience with audits, reconciliations, and internal controls.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of payroll government regulations, tax compliance, and legal requirements.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
