Job description

X-Ray / CT Technologist

The Radiological Technologist, under the direction of the Clinical Manager, performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical details. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative, to apply, and prescribe, ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

  • Perform all responsibilities defined for Medical Radiation Technologists
  • Demonstrated excellent patient care techniques
  • Work with students from affiliated radiologic schools as needed
  • Maintain the continuing education requirements for CMRITO

Job Qualifications : Education :

  • Graduate from a recognized accredited school of Radiological Technology
  • Registered in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario

    • Experience :

  • Demonstrated clinical competency in all aspects of general radiography and minor special procedures
  • CT imaging experience or willingness to be trained required

    • Competencies :

  • Working knowledge of Safety Code 35
  • Working knowledge of RHPA
  • Working knowledge of standards of practice for related field
  • Able to identify and recommend process improvement opportunities
  • Able to work independently and co-operatively as part of a team
  • Recent satisfactory performance appraisal
  • Recent satisfactory attendance record
  • No recent disciplinary events

    • Unless otherwise stated applicants must have a minimum educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent and must demonstrate proven workplace excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance.

Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
