Job description

Our client, a leading Oil and Gas firm is looking for a Corporate Citizenship / Communication Coordinator for a 12 month contract in Calgary. Occasional travel to selected field locations, Houston, Edmonton and Vancouver is required

This will be Hybrid role (Mon, Tues, Thurs – Office / Weds, Fri – Remote)

HOURS : 8 hrs. / day, 40 hrs a week

Responsibilities

Specific Accountabilities

Corporate Citizenship

  • Provide wide-ranging administrative and coordination support to Corporate Citizenship in an efficient, accurate, timely and professional manner to ensure efficiency
  • Communications support for Corporate Giving and Employee Volunteering and Giving Program to strategically promote the program for internal and external audiences and impact
  • Support implementation of enterprise processes and governance for consistent data, decision-making documentation, activation, evaluation, and reporting
  • Act as an ambassador at select internal and external events
  • Support for special corporate citizenship projects and campaigns
  • Corporate Giving

  • Support engagement with strategic community partnerships including activation, representation, management and execution
  • Entry and management of community investment data into relevant reporting software and financial management systems to ensure appropriate procedures and controls for granting and reporting
  • In collaboration with the Brand and Digital Communications team, ensure the brand is appropriately represented in collateral used in support of community partnerships and sponsorships
  • Employee Volunteering and Giving Program

  • Support ongoing maintenance and user experience for the Employee Giving and Volunteering - Benevity SPARK platform, including building employee awareness, campaign facilitation, and administrative activities
  • Timely assessment and response to employee / volunteer requests and inquiries.
  • Communications support for leveraging Corporate Giving and Employee Volunteering and Giving Program to strategically promote the program to internal and external audiences
  • Internal Communications :

  • Develop, execute, and maintain strategic internal communications plans that effectively support business priorities for the Corporate Citizenship and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion areas through the lens of our enterprise narratives, including creative plan development, succinct key message creation, effective channels delivery and measurement reporting
  • Collaborate with the broader PACS team to ensure communications alignment, narrative consistency, editorial planning, and channel effectiveness across stakeholder groups
  • Digital Communications
  • Support a focused governance strategy and metrics reporting
  • Coordinate and post content to a variety of internal and external digital channels
  • Provide digital administrative support
  • Employee Engagement

  • Support storytelling to champion employee conversations and build understanding inside to build employee engagement, brand awareness, shape trust, and support risk and reputation management
  • Stay current on emerging trends and best practices to identify communication opportunities to help enhance purpose, vision, culture and employee engagement

  • Enthusiastic and proactive internal collaboration and stakeholder management to support prioritization of key initiatives and day-to-day channel management
  • Requires independence and strategic thinking to make sound business decisions, manage strategies effectively and execute, measure, and report the effectiveness of programs and initiatives
  • Supports corporate citizenship and communication strategies and outcomes as an integral part of the public affairs, communications and sustainability team through internal collaboration and engagement with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Works independently to design, develop and implement long and short-term projects, demonstrates flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities. Measures and reports on progress
  • Qualifications

    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, business administration, corporate social responsibility (CSR), or related field
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Experience in and understanding of a large company with operations in multiple regions.
  • Passionate about building employee engagement, community investment and organizational alignment through effective internal communications
  • Experienced in community capacity building initiatives
  • Technical Skills

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with well-developed prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven writing and editing capabilities, demonstrated success implementing communications plans and an understanding of communication best practices
  • Proficient with Benevity GRANTS and SPARK platform for Corporate Giving and Employee Volunteering and Giving Program
  • Highest standards of personal integrity when leveraging financial resources to advance the company’s reputation are required. Well-developed discipline in accounting and budget expertise
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Visio), Oracle accounting software, content management platforms, digital publishing and Google Analytics
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate social responsibility principles : customer focused approach with both external stakeholders and corporate management and experience working with not-for-profit organizations or community groups is considered an asset
