Beacon Hall is a Private Equity Club with only 260 shareholder members, Beacon Hall is a small membership by design. A very limited membership – open access to the first tee is a key part of our Mission which is to deliver a premier standard of excellence across all aspects of our membership experience. Beacon Hall is consistently ranked in the Top 10 golf courses in Canada and is located in Aurora, Ontario. The club operates seasonally from mid-April until mid-November and offers a variety of food and beverage outlets along with a swimming pool and a full-service patio.

Position Overview :

As the Clubhouse Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clubhouse, ensuring an outstanding experience for our members, guests, and staff. This is a leadership role that requires a combination of strong operational management, excellent member and guest service skills, and a passion for hospitality and golf culture. You will work closely with the General Manager, Food Services Manager and Executive Chef to enhance the overall member experience while maintaining the highest standards of service, efficiency, and safety.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Clubhouse Operations Management : Oversee the operations of the clubhouse, including the dining areas, bar, lounge, locker rooms, and event spaces, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and service.
  • Staff Leadership and Development : Manage a team of clubhouse staff, including servers, bartenders, cleaners, locker room attendants and maintenance staff. Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure all team members deliver exceptional service.
  • Member and Guest Experience : Ensure that all members and guests receive top-tier service, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally. Work to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere within the clubhouse.
  • Event Coordination and Execution : Assist in the planning and execution of club events, member tournaments, and private functions. This includes managing event logistics, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that events run smoothly and meet members' expectations.
  • Budget and Financial Oversight : Monitor and manage the clubhouse budget, food and beverage budget, including labor costs, inventory, and operational expenses. Work with the General Manager to implement cost-effective measures while maintaining high service standards.
  • Health and Safety Compliance : Ensure that all operations comply with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations. Regularly conduct safety checks and implement appropriate protocols to maintain a safe environment for staff and guests.
  • Communication and Coordination : Serve as the point of contact for members, staff, and management regarding clubhouse-related matters. Regularly communicate with the General Manager and other department heads to ensure seamless operations and to address any issues promptly.
  • Clubhouse Maintenance and Upkeep : Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the clubhouse is in excellent condition, handling any necessary repairs or upgrades as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Experience : A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hospitality or clubhouse management, preferably in a golf or country club setting.
  • Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of employees in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Customer Service Excellence : A commitment to providing exceptional customer service with a focus on creating memorable experiences for members and guests.
  • Strong Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Financial Acumen : Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and financial oversight to ensure efficient clubhouse operations.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with members, guests, and staff at all levels.
  • Flexibility and Availability : Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the club’s schedule and events.
  • Education : A degree or certification in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, event planning, and managing large-scale events is a plus.
  • A passion for golf and an understanding of the culture and etiquette of a private golf club is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Jonas club management software is beneficial.
