Branch Operations Manager

Building Envelope Distribution

Our client, a leading distributor of building envelope products, is seeking a Branch Operations Manager to oversee their Edmonton branch. With 22 employees and $18 million in revenue, the branch services Northern Alberta, including Edmonton, Red Deer, Slave Lake, and Fort McMurray.

This role focuses on operational execution , efficiency , and customer engagement , ensuring exceptional delivery performance, customer satisfaction, and cost management. The successful candidate will inherit a solid team, built over the last two years, and drive improvements to take the business to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee inventory management , purchasing , billing , and vendor relationships .
  • Manage the branch’s fleet of vehicles , including specialized delivery trucks, ensuring efficiency and safety in dispatch and delivery.
  • Drive team performance , including hiring and retaining top talent in a competitive market.
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Manager , focusing on seamless product delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead warehouse and dispatch operations , identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Manage a small book of existing customer accounts , acting as the face of the business for those customers. Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure ongoing satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain hands-on involvement with customers, staff, and daily operations to ensure smooth execution and issue resolution.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven management experience in a distribution environment .
  • Background in fleet management and logistics is a plus.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams in competitive markets.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, always looking for ways to improve processes and drive efficiencies.
  • Proficiency in Excel , POS systems , and dispatch systems .
  • A hands-on leader who thrives in the heart of operations—not just planning and spreadsheets.
