Aslan Technologies has a Water Treatment Equipment Testing and Troubleshooting opportunity for a Technologist / technician to join our team in Burlington, Ontario. The candidate would be responsible for testing and troubleshooting equipment for projects related to water / wastewater treatment and chemical dosing systems. They work in collaboration with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient and effective operation of water and wastewater treatment systems. This role requires technical Knowledge in electrical engineering principles, understanding of process flow, familiarity with devices like flow / temperature / pressure sensors, VFD’s, PLC’s, HMI’s, Pumps and a strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Mechanically and electrically hook up equipment in Aslan’s test area
- Safely and with a high level of comfort Power on, start and run equipment
- Understand and mark-up process schematics, PFDs, and P&IDs to produce accurate “as-built” documents.
- Discover, resolve and document mechanical and electrical issues
- Develop and perform quality control and commissioning checklists and procedures for water / wastewater treatment equipment and chemical dosing systems
- Be involved with FAT procedures with PM / engineering team and clients
- Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to sites outside of the Burlington Aslan office.
Education and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following :
Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical, and biological treatment methods.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex equipment issues.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineering, fabrication and PM teams.Attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace.G” Driver’s licenseWork Environment
