On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Contractor (Network Architect) to assist with the migration and modernization of DNS services, custom applications, and data management infrastructure.

Summary of the Role :

The contractor will support ongoing migration efforts, including moving from the BMC Remedy platform to BMC Helix, while assisting with DNS services migration and Solaris decommissioning.

The role requires technical expertise in DNS, DHCP, and application migration, working closely with internal teams and third-party vendors.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Migrate existing in-house DNS services and data to a third-party application with minimal disruption.
  • Assist in transitioning Windows DNS services for specific devices to a new platform.
  • Provide expert advice on decommissioning Solaris servers and migrating to Linux.
  • Migrate custom applications using ARS and Perl from BMC Remedy to BMC Helix.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to develop migration strategies for BMC Forms and data transformation.
  • Analyze and ensure DNS data integrity during migration processes.

Core Requirements :

  • 5+ years of experience developing and deploying complex IT services.
  • 5+ years of experience building custom DNS and DHCP servers.
  • 10+ years of experience maintaining Solaris servers and scripting in Perl.
  • Experience migrating in-house DNS to third-party applications (preferably Infoblox).
  • Proficiency with Remedy Action Request System (ARS) and custom application development.

Desired Skills & Experience :

  • 5+ years of experience in JavaScript development.
  • Experience with network devices and data integrity management.
  • Familiarity with Unix-to-Linux script migration.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow and CAS preferred.

Terms :

This is a remote contract role based out of Victoria, BC, with an initial duration of 6 months.
