JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role

The IT+Lab Control Advisor will play a crucial role managing and preventing risks within the IT+Lab organization. The Advisor will work closely with various departments and serve as trusted partner or advisor to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as they pertain to IT General Controls, OSFI, etc. This role involves monitoring key risk indicators, implementing risk mitigation strategies and collaborating with IT+Lab partners to build on lessons learned.

What you'll do here :

Ensure understanding around internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Analyze and understand compliance and regulatory audit findings, monitor the resolution of deficiencies and track progress on activities.

Support IT+Lab in identifying, assessing, measuring, monitoring and mitigating or remediating their key technology risks and deficiencies, including IT General Controls.

Ensure proper risk management and resolution, including any lessons learned.

Foster collaboration between all lines of defense related to operational IT risks and promote risk and control awareness across the IT+Lab organization.

Consult on the development and maintenance of risk management documentation, including risk registers and control matrices.

Provide training and support to IT+Lab on risk management practices and procedures.

Stay up to date with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.

What you bring to the table :

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent experience.

3 years of experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, or a related control role.

Strong understanding of risk management principles and frameworks.

Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or similar are a plus.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and execution.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to view the big picture, understand the links between all applications in our scope, and the connections between our control environment and the impact of deficiencies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capacity to provide clear explanations and guidance to IT+Lab teams, ensuring they can implement compliance requirements effectively.

Ability to persuade and convince stakeholders to implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Strong ethical standards and commitment to integrity.

Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow in an evolving environment.

No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Bilingual (French and English) : Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.
