Parkin Architects Limited is an employee-owned, award-winning, architectural practice firm with a proven track record in practical, innovative and economical design. During a history spanning some 60 years, Parkin has designed some of Canada’s most notable buildings.
Parkin’s Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa offices serve both Canadian and international clients with the immediacy and attention of a local service. Parkin’s design influence can currently be found in eight of Canada’s provinces, and in Nunavut.
The employee-owned firm is staffed with well over 140 experienced architects, designers, project managers, administrative staff, including LEED, Evidence-Based Design and LEAN accredited professionals, many of whom are dedicated to specific market sectors. We believe in personalizing the design experience for clients and maintaining a hands-on approach to projects. Every project we undertake has the direct involvement of Directors and Principals. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist and collaborate directly with Project Manager to execute highly creative, concept-driven interior design projects
- Ability to handle interior design projects from start to finish
- Prepare renderings and presentation material for client meetings
- Prepare complete and detailed construction drawing packages
- Source materials, finishes, fixtures and furniture
- Assist with project coordination and contract administration
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
University Degree or Diploma in Interior DesignMinimum 3 years professional experienceProven ability to balance design creativity with client requirementsMust be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative SuiteProficiency in preparing construction drawings and assist with specificationsExcellent understanding of current building codes, building construction, details and building scienceHighly organized and detail oriented; proven track record of meeting project timelinesStrong conceptual, graphic & design skillsDemonstrate excellent communication and presentation skillsCritical thinking, effective problem solving and decision-making skillsTeam player, adaptable and has a positive attitude towards learningMust be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervisionBe able to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as a teamMust have a positive attitude and be enthusiastic about developing his or her interior design careerInstitutional experience in the healthcare, justice, research and sport facility areas of practicePowered by JazzHR
