Lieutenant (Full-time, Permanent)

Under the general direction of the

General Manager of Protective Services , reporting to the

Fire Chief

or designate, and stationed out of assigned station, the

Lieutenant

is responsible for the operational readiness of their assigned station. The position reports all activity and training needs based on operational requirements to the assigned

Captain . The role also involves filling the role of

Truck Officer

during emergency responses as required.

Position Responsibilities

Daily Operations :

• Ensure operational readiness of crew, apparatus, and equipment;
• Implement department goals, establish work priorities, and coordinate shift work;
• Manage payroll, training records, incident reports, and personnel records;
• Maintain station cleanliness and apparatus, tools, and equipment;
• Ensure station security during shifts;

Advise the

Captain

Follow instructions from the

Perform other duties as assigned.

Emergency Response :

Assume command during incidents per county standards.

Other :

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Completion of Defensive Driving and ICS courses is preferred.

Attributes

Availability for evening and weekend training sessions.

The salary range is $73,474 to $91,108 annually, with a competitive benefits package. The successful candidate will be posted in Edson. The competition remains open until a suitable candidate is found. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
