Full-Time Intermediate Homeroom Teaching PositionJob DescriptionSherwood Heights School is seeking a full-time intermediate teachers for the 2023-2024 school year. The mission of SHS is to offer an enriched educational environment with academic excellence in a nurturing environment.The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of teaching at the upper elementary level and will have demonstrated success in teaching this age group. The candidate will posses a genuine passion for working with students to address their academic, social, & emotional needs. This candidate will be comfortable getting to know each student's academic needs and providing the next level, in an academically enriched environment. Collaboration with other teachers is a must to plan and implement dynamic instruction in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. The candidate should possess the skills and passion necessary to inspire learning and enhance the overall educational experience by fostering each student's academic, ethical, social, and emotional development in accordance with the school’s mission, philosophy, and core values.Candidate QualificationsApplicants should posses a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree and be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. Teaching experience is preferred. The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrate sound instructional practices and classroom management methods; have a genuine interest in helping students academically, emotionally, and socially; be successful in working with others and posses strong collaborative skills; be flexible and always contribute positively to the school environment inside and outside the classroom; and possess a genuine passion working with children and other staff members in an academically enriched school setting.Position ResponsibilitiesTeacher responsibilities include : preparing relevant and purposeful lessons for teaching the core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies in alignment with the schools comprehensive and challenging curriculum; applying innovative classroom management techniques; attending staff development activities and meetings; communicating students' progress to parents on an on-going basis and formally as required by the grade reporting protocol.CompensationCompetitive salary will commensurate with experience and academic qualifications, and includes a comprehensive Benefit Plan.Application Requirements Resume Cover Letter 2 -3 Recommendation letters Benefits : Dental care Extended health care RRSP match Vision care Wellness program Please submit your application online
