Job descriptionPlan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions Address customers' complaints or concerns Professionalism in customer service Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations Load and unload goods Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform brake adjustments Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Accident or incident reports Inspection report (pre-trip, en‑route, post‑trip) Trip reports Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles) Tractor‑trailer Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Local Basic security clearance Criminal record check Driver's validity licence check Valid driver's licence Willing to travel for extended periods Willing to travel overnight Handling heavy loads Physically demanding Up to 45 kg (100 lbs) Steel‑toed safety boots Flexibility Organized Reliability Team player Hardworking Disability benefits Free parking available Team building opportunities Parking available a permanent resident of Canada a temporary resident of Canada with a valid work permit Transportation and warehousing 3 job postings advertised Medium‑size business (between 5 and 100 employees)
