Salary The salary range for this position is CAD $37.89 - $47.31 / hour

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions and follow-ups as related to respiratory therapy such as assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support initiating / maintaining mechanical ventilation support of adults, children and infants, providing airway management, patient evaluation, and daily care of patients as prescribed.
• Maintains documentation by ensuring reports, records and workload statistics are complete and accurate according to established departmental standards.
• Participates in the interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic / diagnostic strategies and program related issues.
• Monitors and performs required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation and quality control of respiratory and related equipment : reports supply needs as required; maintains relevant logs / reports.
• Participates in quality improvement activities such as the development, implementation and evaluation of written procedures and standards, development of assessment forms and patient materials, and program descriptions as required.
• Provides in-service education as required.
• Participates in meetings and departmental committees and contributes to problem identification and resolution.
• Participates in Respiratory Therapy student education and various in-services for staff and the community as required.
• Performs other related duties as required.
