We are looking for an energetic team player to join the Pet Valu Warehouse & Distribution team!

Join our team! We have an exciting new opportunity in our Brampton Distribution Center as a Warehouse Supervisor. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the work of a team of warehouse workers including Warehouse Staff, Warehouse Administrators and supplementary staff as required. This position is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activity while on shift.

Job Duties :

  • Provide direction to and monitor the work of selectors (picker / packers), reach truck operators and shipper-receivers, identifying and correcting problems as they occur;
  • Monitor safety in the workplace to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act;
  • Provide ongoing training to employees and provide coaching and performance management as required;
  • Perform administrative paperwork including productivity reports, load discrepancy reports, shorts tracking and computer entry, receiving, transfers, and picking paperwork as required;
  • Maintain excellent levels of customer service, ensure that stores needs are addressed and looked after,
  • Perform cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies as required;
  • Monitor and control infestation through compliance with the infestation control program;
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained daily at acceptable levels within the facility and around the building perimeter and shipping doors;
  • Opens and / or closes the warehouse facility including securing premises, exterior and alarm as required
  • Work towards attainment of the prescribed goals of warehouse success factors : labour productivity, auditing, inventory accuracy, write offs, load discrepancy, and workplace inspections;
  • Ensure security of merchandise and property by adhering to all established policies, practices and procedures.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Lift Truck and Health and Safety training and certificate or willingness to recertify is an asset
  • Strong ability to analyze warehouse operations and find opportunities to improve are essential.
  • Must be able to operate in a team environment.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills.
