Compensation Range: $47800-$71700

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.

Job Purpose

Provide technical and application support for EnerSys products and services, in the assigned area against profitable margins and in line with the business plan, in order to contribute to the realization of service- related sales and service targets

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports daily shop and warehouse operations, including organization, staging, and housekeeping.
  • Performs shipping and receiving activities, including preparation and verification of shipments and documentation.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and repair customer’s equipment including washes, cleans, and neutralizes customers’ batteries at shop. Performing discharge tests evaluations using appropriate meters to control charge and discharge parameters
  • Assists with the installation and/or removal of motive power batteries
  • Replaces defective parts, reassembles battery, and fuses lead parts with gas torch. Adds acid or water to obtain specified concentration.
  • Operates material handling equipment per OSHA requirements.
  • Performs inspections and analyzes findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Maintains accurate service, inventory, and shipping records using company systems.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and transportation regulations.
  • Maintains a safe, orderly and clean working environment- clean warehouse in service area at the end of the day.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience working in a shop, warehouse, or shipping/receiving environment would be an asset.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions which lead to proper customer solutions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must complete Enersys Canada Inc. Service Representative Training Course within 6 to 12 months. Must complete forklift training.
  • Driving Ability: Ability to operate various company vehicles types in a safe and competent manner. Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Team player. Excellent organizational skills. Highly professional.
  • TRAVEL REQUIRED: Estimated 3-4 days of overnight travel to London & Bolton will be necessary for training opportunities, company meetings, customer service calls and other circumstances as dictated by the supervisor.

General Job Requirements

  • This position requires you to drive a company vehicle. Therefore, you must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific drivers license and have additional driving requirements.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to be on-call.
  • Risk of electrical shock.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
