About the Role
Martell Group is hiring a full-time, in-person Video Editor to join our fast-paced media team. Reporting to the Creative Director, you will transform raw footage into engaging, high-performing content, with a strong focus on short-form video for social platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who understands short-form pacing, hooks, retention strategies, and audience psychology, while also being capable of editing long-form YouTube and program content. We are looking for a creative storyteller who can turn ideas into impactful, scroll-stopping content.
Key Responsibilities
Video Editing
Edit short-form content including Reels, Shorts, and TikTok with strong hooks and retention-driven pacing
Edit long-form content for YouTube, podcasts, and online programs
Add transitions, captions, motion graphics, music, and sound design
Apply color correction and audio cleanup
Structure content to maximize engagement and watch time
Creative Collaboration
Work closely with the Creative Director, producers, and on-screen talent
Contribute ideas during planning and brainstorming sessions
Participate in review and feedback meetings
Post-Production Management
Organize footage, B-roll, templates, and media assets
Maintain consistent brand style across all content
Export final videos in proper formats for each platform
Optimization
Stay current with short-form trends and platform best practices
Adjust editing style based on performance metrics such as watch time, engagement, and click-through rate
Deliver projects on time and at a high creative standard
Qualifications
Required
Strong experience editing short-form content
Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, with After Effects and Audition preferred
Strong portfolio featuring short-form and long-form work
Ability to work full-time on-site in Kelowna, BC
Strong organization and time management skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, feedback-driven environment
Preferred
Experience editing for personal brands or fast-growing media companies
Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro
Basic graphic design skills using Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator
Interest in entrepreneurship, personal development, or the creator economy
