LaPrairie Works Inc., a member of LaPrairie Group of Companies, is an ISO-9001-2015 certified company providing highway and bridge maintenance, civil infrastructure construction, slope stabilization, erosion and drainage control, and environmental remediation services across Western Canada.

We are expanding our highway maintenance operations into CMA 519 with operational centers in Hanna and Oyen, Alberta. We are looking to hire a Lead Journeyman Mechanic, Highway Maintenance Operations, to be based in Hanna, AB.

Reporting to the Senior Superintendent, Mechanical Programs, the Lead Journeyman Mechanic will provide mechanical support to LaPrairie Works Inc. operations throughout CMA 519.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Service Truck to provide mechanical support to the operations throughout CMA 519.
• Inspect trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance
• Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment
• Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts
• Repair damaged equipment parts
• Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles
• Perform major repair work when necessary
• Manage and hold maintenance shop staff accountable for conducting their duties in a safe manner
• Monitor maintenance shop performance against established goals
• Oversee daily and weekly workloads to achieve shop objectives
• Work with training coordinator to ensure all maintenance staff receive required training
• Deliver prompt and efficient resolution of any issues related to Mechanical Programs
• Hold monthly safety meetings with maintenance teams
• Ensure proper utilization of the company’s maintenance management system
• Communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
• Supervise and direct contractors when they are on-site.
• Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001 : 2015 Quality Assurance System
• Perform other duties as required
