Learning Officer – Museum

Peterborough Limited are recruiting Learning Officer to work at our Museum site in Peterborough.

Fixed Term contract until 31 / 12 / 2026 – 29.4 hours per week – £29,907 per annum

The main purpose of this role is to provide a professional, friendly and efficient service to customers, understanding their needs and requirements.

About the role…

Peterborough Limited are recruiting a fixed term Learning Officer based at Peterborough Museum.

We are looking for a Learning Officer to support with the administration of school bookings for the Museum and assist with teaching sessions for schools both in the Museum and at schools.

The administrative responsibilities include answering enquiries, being a point of contact for teachers, encouraging bookings and managing the school diary.

The teaching responsibilities include teaching, welcoming schools and preparing and cleaning up after sessions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent administrative and customer service skills and experience delivering and presenting to young people.

• To represent and deliver the values and expectations as set out by Peterborough Limited.
• To manage school bookings from enquiry to invoicing
• To manage the school diary and booking schools into the Museum calendar, liaising with other staff as necessary
• To assist the Learning Coordinator in managing the teaching rota to ensure sessions are staffed
• To deliver museum learning sessions as set out by the Learning Coordinator, at the Museum and in schools, participate in school events and other school or learning activities as required.
• To set up, take down, check and prepare resources related to the sessions taught.
• To contribute to the review and development of the learning programme and process of evaluation
• To support the Learning Coordinator in communicating with schools
• To assist with any other admin relevant to the museum learning programme
• To undertake any other relevant tasks as required.
• To demonstrate commitment to your professional development by evaluating your own practice and learning from the effective practice of others.
• To attend staff training that is appropriate to the role.
• To be aware of health and safety related to all the activities.
