As we quickly approach the 2024 / 2025 School Year, we are seeking applications for Substitute Teachers for all Grasslands Public School Locations.

  • In addition to direct contact for booking dispatches, we also offer automated phone dispatches, which provide newer substitutes with more frequent opportunities to book, as well as web based dispatch booking.
  • We work closely with the ATA Substitute Teacher representative to improve our processes and experience for our Substitute Teachers.
  • We hold Substitute Teacher appreciation events.

Job Duties :

  • identify students’ individual and collective learning needs;
  • plan and deliver instruction based on student learning needs and special needs;
  • provide a stimulating learning environment in which each student can experience growth and develop to their potential;
  • help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills;
  • meet with parents;
  • evaluate and communicate student progress;
  • prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help;
  • meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress;
  • volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after-school activities; and
  • attend meetings, seminars and in-service training sessions.

    • Education and Certifications :

  • Bachelor of Education

    • pre-service teacher preparation program from an approved institution

  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certification (or able to quickly obtain it)

    • Successful applicants will be required to submit before start date :

  • Current Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)

    • Original document reported within the last 6 monthsof hire date; condition of employment

  • Applicants cannot work before a clear CRC with VSC has been provided and approved
