Our client is currently growing their team and is in need of heavy production labourers as soon as possible.
This position requires the employee to work shift work :
6 : 00am - 2 : 00pm
2 : 00pm - 10 : 00pm
10 : 00pm - 6 : 00am
Payrate : $24.75
Responsibilities :
- Operates machinery, equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Identify and retrieve structural steel / rebar from warehouse racks to fill orders
- Feeding and unloading processing machines
- Ensure machine guards are in place and material is handled in a safe manner
- Must wear appropriate safety equipment as specified
- Operation of Overhead Cranes (Training certification required prior to operating)
- Operation of Cutting Saws, Rebar Benders and Shears ( Training Provided)
- Use of a measuring tape to check material lengths and bends in Rebar Steel
- Follow work instructions, procedures and adhere to Company policies and rules
- Report any unsafe acts or conditions of which you are aware
- Maintaining regular attendance, arriving for scheduled shift on-time
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to the requirements of section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment (2 – 3 years)High School Diploma / GED equivalentApproved safety footwear is requiredPrevious overhead crane or fork truck operating experience is an assetExperience with Sheet Metal an assetExperience with CNC Machines & Programming considered an assetWork is performed in a non-climate-controlled environment. Temperatures will fluctuate in accordancewith the weather and the season. Employees are to dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
Continuous walking, standingOccasional heavy lifting – Employees are to use two man lift techniques or other lifting devices for loadsthat exceed their ability to lift safely (eg. Overhead Crane)
Working in the yards and shops with the steel is dirty, so wear suitable clothing.Physical Requirements
