About the position
Duties
Students will conduct field work to monitor forest and alpine songbird diversity, pika abundance, amphibian occupancy and wildlife occupancy (wildlife remote cameras). In addition, students will support EIM projects at the office with fieldwork preparation and planning, organizing and servicing field equipment, data entry and management, remote camera photo classification, and songbird / amphibian audio classification. Students must be physically fit; and able to safely travel, navigate and spend full days in the wilderness. Work environment

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
You need (essential for the job)
Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following Successful completion of at least one year at a recognized post-secondary institution
in a program leading to a diploma or degree; in a field related to biological sciences, ecology, geography, environmental sciences, or other field closely related to natural science.Currently registered as a full-time or part-time student in a recognized institution. Proof of education will be required at time of interview.

CERTIFICATIONS : Possession and maintenance of valid Standard First Aid and CPR certificate.EXPERIENCE IN : EX1 : Strong wilderness travel skills including experience hiking 20 or more kilometers per day with a heavy backpack, often in off trail and steep mountainous terrain; during inclement weather conditions; and on day and overnight trips.
EX2 : Experience following scientific field data collection protocols and recording data accurately. Other approaches such as traditional Indigenous methods will be considered.
