A WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Administrator plays a critical role in the management, configuration, and maintenance of IBM's WebSphere Application Server environments. These professionals ensure the smooth operation of applications deployed on the server and support the development teams by providing a robust infrastructure. Technical Skills
1. WebSphere Application Server Expertise
Installation and Configuration :
- Proficiency in installing and configuring WebSphere Application Server across various environments.
- Experience with creating and configuring profiles, cell topology, and clustering for high availability.
Administration :
Deep understanding of administrative tasks using both administration console and command-line tools (wsadmin).Ability to manage application deployments, including configuring JDBC, JMS, and other resources.Performance Tuning :
Skills in monitoring and tuning performance to ensure optimal application performance and resource utilization.Proficiency in identifying and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.2. Operating System Proficiency
