Accountivity is hiring!Job Title : Director of Corporate DevelopmentLocation : Halton Region, ONJob Type : PermanentSalary : $150,000 to $180,000 / yearOur client in the Region of Halton, ON is actively looking for a Director of Corporate Development to join their team.Position Description : The Director of Corporate Development will play a pivotal role in driving the company's strategic growth through both internal initiatives and acquisitions. Reporting to the Executive VP – Strategic and Corporate Development, this role is responsible for shaping the company's long-term strategy, identifying and executing acquisition opportunities, and supporting significant internal growth projects.The Director will work closely with divisional Presidents, corporate and divisional finance teams, and the executive leadership team to ensure strategic initiatives translate into tangible actions that enhance enterprise value. This role requires a highly analytical and strategic mindset, financial acumen, strong project management skills, and the ability to operate seamlessly from detailed analysis to high-level strategy.The successful candidate recognizes that this role isn't just about analysis and execution—it's about leading cross-functional teams and aligning different departments on value-creating growth initiatives. This requires a high degree of energy, curiosity, leadership, and cross-functional influence. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning & Growth InitiativesContribute to the company's long-term strategic planning by developing financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to shape the next five-year growth plan.Understand and translate the company's highest-level strategies into actionable initiatives for divisional management teams.Work closely with divisional leaders to support significant internal growth projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.Support business optimization through prioritization of strategic growth opportunities to optimize resource allocation and capital investment decisions.Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) ExecutionIdentify, assess, and execute strategic acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures to drive enterprise value. Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence efforts for potential transactions. Build and maintain strong relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, business owners, and advisors. Develop and present business cases for acquisitions and major strategic initiatives to the executive team. In support of process improvement and governance, develop and refine the M&A playbook to ensure smooth deal execution and best practices.Develop and oversee integration strategies for acquired companies to ensure synergy realization and operational alignment. Partner with operational teams to track post-merger integration milestones and ensure acquired businesses meet financial and strategic objectives.Financial & Analytical ExpertiseConduct detailed financial and operational analyses to support corporate development initiatives. Leverage advanced Excel modeling skills to drive decision-making for potential investments and corporate strategies. Work collaboratively with corporate and divisional finance teams to ensure alignment on financial targets and reporting.Monitoring of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market opportunities to inform corporate strategy.Provide insights on competitor activities, M&A trends, and emerging market disruptions that may impact the company's strategy.Cross-Functional Leadership & CommunicationPartner with divisional Presidents and corporate teams to monitor progress against major projects and strategic initiatives. Act as a key liaison between corporate leadership and business unit leaders to align priorities and execution. Prepare executive-level presentations and reports to communicate findings, recommendations, and key project updates. Prepare materials and present M&A and strategic growth initiatives to the Board of Directors and executive leadership.Drive project management efforts for strategic growth initiatives, ensuring milestones are met and resources are effectively allocated.Qualifications & Experience8+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or a similar strategic finance role in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Bachelor's degree required; MBA strongly preferred.Proven experience leading M&A transactions, including deal structuring, financial modeling, due diligence, negotiation, and execution. Strong understanding of corporate strategy, capital allocation, and value creation drivers in an industrial or manufacturing business. Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling) and PowerPoint (executive presentations). Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with senior leadership. Strong project management skills with the ability to drive complex initiatives to completion. Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 25-50%).Key Success FactorsStrong business acumen and ability to connect high-level strategy to divisional execution.
