The Opportunity :

We're looking for a Junior Hydrogeologist with a specialization in groundwater modelling to join our Southern Ontario Mine Water Team, located in one of our GTA (Toronto / Mississauga / Burlington / Hamilton) or Ottawa, ON offices. You will provide numerical modelling support for various hydrogeological, environmental, and engineering investigations related to multi-disciplinary projects primarily for the mining sector.

A day in the life : (Role Specific)
You'll work with interdisciplinary project teams that offer highly complex work, a chance to challenge yourself and what you've learned so far and an opportunity to push your skills to the next level with some of the best in the industrySupport the development and implementation of numerical groundwater flow models for a wide range of projects including :Large scale open pit and underground mining operations
Regional and local scale hydrogeological assessmentsMunicipal source water protection studiesDewatering assessments for infrastructure projectsCompile field and / or other data for interpretation and analysisYou'll work with intermediate and senior hydrogeologists to provide technical services related to both mining and infrastructure related projects.Provide technical support and complete hydrogeological analysis, visualizations, and aid in the development of conceptual site models.Work both independently and in a group setting under the direction of senior specialists in related disciplines.Preparing technical documents and reportsAssist more senior staff with the development and preparation of project proposals.You will enjoy substantial opportunities for technical development and career growth, a flexible work schedule, and committed senior mentorship.You will demonstrate a "Safety First" focusYou will follow and understand the health and safety procedures of WSP and our clients to protect yourself and other workersIf it involves water, you will be part of it!
What you'll bring to WSP : (Role specific)
A Masters degree (or equivalent education) in Hydrogeology, Environmental / Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or similar program. A specialization in groundwater modelling through coursework or project / thesis is preferred.Eligibility to register as either a Geoscientist-In-Training (GIT), Engineer-In-Training (EIT), Certified Technician (C.Tech.) or Certified Engineering Technician (CET) in the Province of OntarioExperience in the development and application of numerical modelling tools / approaches in groundwaterExperience with MODFLOW, FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, etcExperience using Python, SQL for data analysisAn unrestricted full Class G Driver's License (or equivalent) that is valid in the province of Ontario, a clean Driver's Abstract and access to a vehicle.Strong computer skills including proficiency with the MS Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Excellent time management, organization, communication, problem solving, writing, and people skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentWill be a team player, with the ability to cooperate and communicate with other staff, subcontractors, and clients).You have a strong ability to learn new systems and skills independently.You want to experience what it's like to work for the leading environmental consulting firm globally and be part of a growing and thriving team!Preferred Qualifications :
