The Department of Medicine, University of Toronto, is seeking a Physiatrist-Clinician Investigator for the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute University Health Network. The successful candidate will be an academic clinician who represents scholarly achievement and clinical excellence. The successful applicant should be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto and will be expected to work in the position description of Clinician Investigator. The effective start date is August 18th, 2025, or shortly thereafter.

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute is seeking a dynamic clinician with advanced training in complex brain disorders. The successful candidate should have a promising record of accomplishment in clinical research, and strong interests in functional neurological Disorders, acquired brain injuries including concussions, and acute care physiatry consultations. The successful candidate will 1) Provide physiatric consultations and follow-ups to outpatients with functional neurological disorders and acquired brain injuries and 2) provide physiatric consultations to patients with stroke and acquired brain injuries in acute care . Toronto Rehab has a vibrant and highly productive research environment. The candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program in their areas of research and will be appointed as a Clinician investigator in the Toronto Rehabilitation Research Institute.

The successful candidate must hold an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. If residency training was completed in Canada, then candidates must have a Fellowship or be eligible for Fellowship certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. If residency training was completed in the US, then the candidate must have certification or be eligible for certification by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and / or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Other international applicants will be considered after the completion of fellowships in Canada. Completion of advanced training (ie. Master’s degree) in a research field, or a proven track record of research productivity is required to ensure eligibility for a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Toronto. Completion of fellowship(s) in Brain medicine and / or Acquired Brain Injuries are considered assets.
