We are seeking a motivated and high-performing Senior Accountant to support assurance and tax engagements while working closely with clients and internal teams. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in delivering high-quality work, supporting engagement teams, and contributing to continuous improvement and professional development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Engagement Support
- Prepare financial statements and working papers for Audit, Review, and Compilation engagements
- Support clients with bookkeeping, accounting, and compliance matters
- Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns
- Prepare and file GST/HST, payroll, WSIB, Employer Health Tax (EHT), and other government remittances
- Prepare information returns (T4, T4A, T5, T3, T5018)
- Use accounting and tax software to record transactions, analyze data, and generate reports
- Assist in identifying efficiencies and improving engagement processes
Team & Professional Contribution
- Build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Review work prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback
- Support training, coaching, and mentorship of junior team members
- Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and high-performance team culture
- Uphold professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- CPA designation completed or in progress (preferred)
- 3–5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or professional services
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax compliance
- Experience preparing financial statements for Audit, Review, and Compilation engagements
- Proficiency with Caseware, CaseView, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience reviewing or mentoring junior staff is an asset
