OEG Sports & Entertainment delivers leading sports, entertainment and other special event programming to fans and patrons in Canada and the United States. OEG owns the 5-time Stanley Cup Champion Edmonton Oilers, the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings, the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors, and operates Rogers Place, the new home of the Oilers and Oil Kings in downtown Edmonton.
About the Role :
Reporting to the VP, Live Entertainment, the Director, Talent Buying - Live Entertainment is responsible for actively contacting and working with prospective artists, agencies, promoters & industry-based events to develop relationships and sales opportunities for OEG Sports & Entertainment.
Your Focus in this Role :
- Identify and develop new revenue generating opportunities for OEGSE.
- Maximize revenue opportunities within all OEGSE events in Rogers Place and ICE District.
- Create and grow a list of artists and acts suitable to the OEGSE booking philosophy.
- Develop relationships with civic and provincial organizers to drive content for Rogers Place and ICE District.
- Work with the Booking Specialist to fill potential revenue generating dates.
- Oversee the general production of events with OEG Event Operations team.
- Liaise with event operations on budgets, logistics, and event production.
- Create Executive summaries of the local entertainment scene.
- Execute legal documents for venue agreements and settlements.
- Confirm agreements with VP of Live Entertainment prior to handing off event to an Event Manager.

5-7 years’ experience within the Live Entertainment industry.Post-secondary Certificate, Diploma or Degree in a related field preferred.Experience in financials, budgets and Proformas.Strong understanding of the Live Entertainment industry.Demonstrated ability to build relationships and close deals.Strong communication skills.Proficient in MS Office Suite and professional correspondence.What’s in it for you?
