Gas Field Certifier / Inspector (Bilingual)
We are currently accepting applications for a Gas Field Certifier / Inspector based in our Montreal (Pointe-Claire) office, reporting to the Product Group Manager Field Evaluations and Verifications. Bilingualism (French-English, written and spoken) is required.
Responsibilities :
- Perform the analysis of appliance conformity according to the CSA B149.3 code (or in combination with other applicable requirements)
- Evaluate the gas train schematic (assembly, type of components) and the electrical schematic (sequence of operation, components, control circuit wiring)
- Analyze the characteristics of the appliance operation in regards with burner operation and airflow
- Request modifications or additions to the appliance in order to meet code requirements
- Communicate with customers in order to provide efficient follow-ups and to ensure customers understand the findings noted during the analysis
- Perform on-site inspections to verify that the installation complies with the CSA B149.3 code requirements (or any other applicable requirements)
- Verify the piping, the gas train and its components, the control panel and its components
- Verify that the installation complies with the schematics, and the analysis report generated during the analysis
- Perform tests and verifications on the appliance under evaluation during the on-site inspection
- Write a non-conformance report indicating all items that need to be rectified, if applicable, and send it to the customer
- Affix the Special Inspection Label when the appliance complies with the requirements of the code.
Note : Individual must be willing to travel and perform inspections in industrial environment
Education :
Post-secondary diploma in Technology or equivalent i.e. Gas or Fuel licence, HVAC orBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringExperience :
Five (5) to ten (10) years experience in related fieldExperience in combustion and / or service and thermodynamic and industrial processSkills :
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematicsKnowledge of the CSA standards and the CSA codes (B149.1 and B149.3)Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent decision-making and organizational skills, self-starter, problem-solving abilityBilingualism (English-French, written and spoken) is essentialComputer proficiency (Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Microsoft Outlook)Travel :
