Send resume to : resumes@albertaglass.com$34 - $44 negotiable on experience Hours : Monday to Friday (40 to 44 hrs / week)Monday to Friday, occasional OT or weekend work to meet deadlines________________________________________Duties : Journeyman Glaziers perform some or all of the following duties : Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine type and thickness of glass, frame, installation procedure and materials requiredMeasure and mark glass and cut glass using glass cutters or computerized cutterTint glass and create patterns on glass by etching, sandblasting or painting designsAssemble, erect and dismantle scaffolds, rigging and hoisting equipmentPosition glass panes into frames and secure glass using clips, points or moldingsAssemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, ceilings or exteriors of buildingFabricate metal frames for glass installationInstall, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in commercial and residential buildingsInstall pre-cut mirrors and opaque and transparent glass panels in frames to form exterior walls of buildingsPrepare and install skylights and other special glass in commercial and institutional establishmentsRepair and service commercial aluminum doors and other glass supporting structures, and replace damaged glass or faulty sealant________________________________________Qualifications / Requirements : Completion of a three or four year apprenticeship program from a recognized institutionAptitude with math, measuring, and use of hand and power toolsSome blue print readingPreference to those with a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license (drivers abstract will be required)Physically fit to be able to perform within the working conditionsFluent reading, writing and speaking in EnglishLegally able to work in CanadaMandatory to wear / use : CSA steel toed 8” workboots and company issued PPEPositive, friendly and focused individual who is highly organized________________________________________Working conditions : Moderate exposure to noiseExposure to chemicals used in the glazing industryMay need to work at heights using a harness and other PPEFrequently assigned to changing prioritiesUse of Personal Protection Equipment will be required in designated areasComfortable with heights and working on scaffolding and liftsAble to stand for long periods of time often requiring a lot of bending at the waist or kneelingLift / Carry up to 100 lbs.
