Job Description
We are seeking an Instructor dedicated to empowering Indigenous adult students by providing high quality training that integrates Indigenous knowledge, personal and community development, as well as community service and educational assistant skills. You will have the opportunity to inspire and empower Indigenous adults, fostering their growth and preparing them for impactful roles within community service and education sectors.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging and culturally appropriate instructional lessons that incorporate Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and practices
- Deliver training modules on child development, Indigenous culture, community development, and the skills required for teacher assistant positions
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, skill development, and personal growth
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Developer to ensure seamless alignment between curriculum and instructional delivery
- Assess participant progress and provide timely feedback to support their learning journey
- Adapt instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual needs
- Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, performance, and achievements
- Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and other instructors to ensure program effectiveness and participant success
Qualifications
Bachelor of Education, Social work on Indigenous Studies degree, or similar. Consideration will be given to candidates presenting a suitable mix of educational background and practical experience.Applicable training and experience in adult education, with a focus on Indigenous community development and essential skills instruction.Profound understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures, histories, and current issues.Proven experience in educational or instructional roles, with a strong preference for backgrounds in Indigenous education.Comprehensive knowledge of child development theories and established best practices in early childhood education.Acquaintance with the educational landscape, particularly regarding the qualifications necessary for teaching assistant positions and roles in community development.Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective interaction with a variety of stakeholders.Competence in fostering inclusive and culturally respectful learning environments.Advanced organizational capabilities for efficient management of educational resources and learner documentation.Versatility in adjusting methodologies in response to evolving program requirements and timetables.Dedication to self-improvement and professional growth.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
