Job description
  • Ensure that all OTG construction sites comply with local health and safety regulations codes and industry standards.
  • Assist in regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites equipment and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs for employees subcontractors and suppliers emphasizing safe work practices and procedures.
  • Assist in incident reporting and investigation processes including nearmiss reporting and work with teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate safety records including incident reports safety inspection findings and training records and prepare reports for review.
  • Assist in promoting safety awareness by facilitating safety meetings toolbox talks and safety campaigns to engage employees in safety initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans ensuring employees are adequately trained in response procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for safety improvement provide recommendations and collaborate with project teams to implement safety enhancements.
  • Assist in evaluating the safety performance of subcontractors and suppliers ensuring they meet OTGs safety standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in health and safety regulations codes and best practices and communicate relevant updates to project teams.
  • Qualifications :

    • Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field.
    • Knowledge of local health and safety regulations codes and industry standards.
    • Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment with the ability to engage and influence others in safety initiatives.
    • Strong analytical skills and a problemsolving mindset; you embrace challenges!
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; youre an effective communicator.
    • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment; youre adaptable!
    • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy; you ensure nothing is overlooked.
    • Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment; you enjoy learning from various fields.
    • Must hold a valid G drivers license with a clean driving record.
    • Willing and able to work outdoors.
