Worship Pastor

On Sundays, bring spiritual leadership and insight to the SPA Church and create worship for all services. In particular, lead and train those working in the Worship Arts area of the church and be the guide and shepherd so that we will see lives transformed in the congregation. Have a strong call to ministry in the music area, an education in Music, with emphasis on at least one instrument. Use PCO and email for church scheduling and communication, including participation in Sunday worship areas other than singers and bands.

Key Role

• Oversee the areas of Worship Arts and production of the Sunday services.
• Develop each Sunday service with Pastors and Staff.
• Prepare announcement videos and announcement loop.
• Set-up stage and oversee Thursday practice and Sunday Worship Service.
• Maintain clean platform space, including platform wings.
• Oversee Sunday lighting and sound.
• Load projection computer for Sunday services and maintain appropriate software.
• Develop healthy relationships within the Worship Arts area.
• Show the congregation how to express their Worship of God.
• Teach and encourage those in your charge to be disciples of Christ and servants of his church through training and other methods.
• Develop, empower, and support a team of dedicated leaders that will assist in the ministry.
• Find others who have musical talents and develop worship leaders and musicians for Sunday Services.
• Music and production for special events.
• Maintain regular communication with the Worship Arts area of the church through emails, social media, and the SPA webpage.

Administration

• Reports to Lead Pastor
• Assist in preparing a yearly budget for Worship Arts, including Lighting/training/Sound/Projection/Stage …
• Provide a written report quarterly to the church board.
• Assist in occasional preaching and other pastoral ministries as the need arises.
• Be punctual and reliable.

Additional Tasks (40% of your time)

• Engage in a ministry suitable for your personal giftings within the congregation
• Oversee graphics for Canva.
• Assist in visitation, especially with people in the worship arts department.
• Attend a SPA Social group.
• Engage in mission opportunities outside regular church meetings (ex. Music ministry on Reserves, occasional ministry in sister churches, etc.).
• Assist in occasional preaching ministry.
• All Pastors may be asked to help with tasks not necessarily in their portfolio as part of the work that may be required (this may involve simple day to day tasks or activities required to serve the congregation and run the office).
• Assist the lead pastor in tasks as may be required.
