Description :
As a Pathologists' Assistant I, you will perform gross examination (describe, dissect and document) specimens from biopsy and surgical procedures, selecting sections for processing. You will work in close collaboration with and under the supervision of pathologist medical staff in all matters relating to tissue examination, dissection, and staff / resident training and evaluation. You will assist Pathologists or Residents in the performance of Hospital-ordered autopsies, including receiving and preparing remains.
Required Qualifications :
Master's Degree of Pathologists' Assistant or equivalent combination of education and experience recognized by the Canadian Association of Pathologists for Canadian Certification Council of Pathologists' Assistant (CCCPA) certification. Active or eligible for certification with the Canadian Certification Council of Pathologists' Assistants (CCCPA).
Additional Required Qualifications :
Recent and relevant experience grossing specimens of all complexities.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with Epic – Beaker, AP Modules.Experience with DMO or other voice recognition dictating software.Experience teaching learners to gross.
