Best Culture Solutions is seeking an Estimator for our client in the Fort McMurray region. This role will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and providing accurate cost estimates for welding and machining projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to prepare detailed project scopes. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of fabrication processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.This role works primarily Monday to Friday, during regular business hours, with occasional flexibility required based on project needs. If that interview goes well, the Hiring Manager will interview candidates and extend an offer to the successful applicant!How You’ll Move the NeedleReview project blueprints, technical specifications, and requirements to determine the scope of work.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify project needs.Prepare accurate estimates for labor, materials, and overhead costs related to welding and machining tasks.Research and source materials and components from suppliers.Obtain quotes and negotiate pricing to ensure competitive estimates.Maintain detailed records of estimates, proposals, and any revisions.Prepare and present estimates and proposals to management and clients.Work closely with key stakeholders to understand project timelines and budgetary constraints.Communicate with clients to clarify project specifications and resolve any discrepancies.Analyze past projects to identify trends and improve estimating accuracy.Remain current with industry standards, new technologies, best practices in welding and machining.Complete tasks in a timely fashion, meet deadlines set forth.Collaborate with leadership with special projects, business opportunities, and / or other prospects.Conduct other duties as assigned by your supervisor and / or designate.Safety : Cultivate and encourage a safety culture through daily interactions and observations.Complete all administration duties related to safety reportingParticipate and contribute in Toolbox Talks.Report all incidents to immediate supervisor and other personnel as required.Working environment : Position is primarily based out of the town shop.Work in a shop environment with varying temperatures, depending on the season and specific processes.Exposure to moderate to high noise levels from machinery and equipment.Work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where efficiency and precision are imperative.What you need to succeedWe are looking for a candidate that demonstrates the following abilities and traits : Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or related field is an asset.Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating and project management within a machining and fabrication shop environment.Minimum Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.Proficient in Microsoft 365, estimation tools, and software.Must maintain the ability to access all Oil Sands client sites and / or other areas where business conducts.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and detail.What would give you an edgeExperience working in a dynamic, fast-paced shop environment.Previous experience collaborating with oil sands clients.Familiarity with industry trends and best practices in welding and machining.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and vendors.Best Culture Solutions, Inc. appreciates the time of all those who apply.
